What a lovely Villa & Esma was so welcoming. The villa is in a fantastic location & very chilled out / relaxed. Gary was extremely helpful at advising on local attractions and getting information for us, even to the extent of hiring a private boat for an evening cruise - highly recommended! Gorgeous villa with everything you need plus much more. Overall fantastic holiday & very rarely for us... we may well be back!!!

We were two families of total 8 people from Sweden that spend two weeks in the wonderful Villa Han. The Villa itself is very well planned and have all the belongings you need for a good holiday. From the pool area, kitchen, bedrooms and BBQ (perfect to sit with a Raki, look when the food getting ready and enjoy the surroundings). The house are located at the back of the village Orhaniye, perfect for those who wants to have a peaceful holiday. Very few cars passed by the Villa but don’t miss when the local people drive pass and wants to sell i.e. fish and melons. There is a lot of wonderful beaches in the area that you easily can reach by car, the beach in Orhaniye is ok in the morning and evening but too occupied by i.e. Jeep Safaris from Marmaris during the days. We also recommend that you rent a private boat from Selimiye for a day (Esma will help you ), difficult to have a better day that we had those two day’s we were out with the boat.

Tomas, Sweden,

Am not sure where to start, but Villa Han is like an oasis! We were 7 people, and there was plenty of room and space for everyone. Everything from the decoration to the surroundings and the sea made our stay extremely comfortable and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place to my best friends. And the pictures really doesn't do the villa justice. It is far more gorgeous in reality!

Khaled, Denmark,

This review is long overdue. We stayed in Villa Gelincik at the beginning of summer for a week. We were unfamiliar with this part of Turkey. It was an absolute delight. The bozburun peninsula is a beautiful part of southern Turkey. Traditional, friendly local people. Beautiful scenery, quiet and the makings of a fantastic holiday in a really relaxed environment. The little village of Selimiya was a complete delight. The people in the village were so friendly. The local woman baking fresh Turkish bread down became our routine shopping trip along with the fish shop and the vegetable stand by the beach. The villa itself was simple, quiet and with everything you need to enjoy a lovely time away from home. We cooked in, we enjoy really relaxing on holiday and the bbq was our preferred way to enjoy our evenings. The pool was clean, the views were gorgeous. The running (if you're into it) is challenging but really great for hills......a run to Bozburun village and back is around 11kms and due to those hills works up a good appetite for that Turkish bread at breakfast. All in all, highly recommended.

Villa Han is truly a little hidden gem. In a village that in some ways is still about 80 years behind and where you can still experience the beauty and magic of Turkey and its people. Our daily morning walk around the village was an experience not to be missed, with friendly smiling locals and the children eager to practice their English it is a great way to start your day. The attention to detail in the villa is amazing, down to the lighting around the pool and veranda, the candles dotted around for the evening ambience to the gardens full of magical aroma's and colour. The villa itself is immaculate, fresh and full of character. With plenty to do around the area a car is a must, however our daughters found travelling to Marmaris to their shopping via the local bus very easy as only a 30 minute ride. I cannot thank Gary and Esma enough for giving us a special holiday to remember and look forward to coming back next year. The only downside was that we had to leave.

Smith Family, UK,

We spent a very peaceful and relaxing 8 days at Villa Han and would definitely return. Although the end of the season we were lucky with the weather and didn't see a single cloud. The villa was lovely and comfortable, in a rural elevated setting with mountain & partial sea views. There was no expense spared in terms of villa design along with all the mod cons, just like home from home. In particular, the veranda with its rustic furniture, the well placed garden lighting & garden landscaping gave the villa a small boutique hotel ambiance. A great find, I would highly recommend, make sure you have a car as it is set up at the back of the village, which we liked as it was more peaceful. The set back location also gave a feel of the local way of life, with greetings from the local farmers passing by, as well as the odd donkey!

The villa and its garden and pool are fantastic. Everything has been so well planned with an emphasis to detail and comfort. The views from the villa and garden down to the village and bay are breathtaking. The house, grounds and facilities are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance.
We took advantage of the first-class produce on offer in the village and enjoyed eating our meals on the patio. We got to try 3 of the several village restaurants and all can be highly recommended.

Villa Gelincik is a real gem and so is Selimiye. We have been renting villas in Turkey for 15 years and this is the best villa/resort combination we have found. The villa has been well designed with reasonable size bedrooms and plenty of ground floor space including a well equipped kitchen. As far as we were concerned, the best feature was the outside area where we spent most of our time. A lovely big dining table on a raised terrace overlooking the pool, a delightful lounging area, a large barbecue and good loungers surrounding the pool. From all of these spaces we could enjoy marvelous views of the surrounding area and bay. No adjoining villas, just olive and almond trees and a few goats and sheep! The villa is set high above Selimiye. Selimiye is a delight with just enough sophistication to offer a good range of restaurants and shops along the waterfront but not too commercialised and no hassle. Overall we were very happy with our choice and will probably return.

"Great Villa, stunning views",

Villa Han is just perfect. It's all new and has everything you'd need in life. It's perfectly clean and well looked after. It's located in a real rural and quiet location. Local people are friendly and nice. You can reach beautiful beaches easily by car or bicycles (available at the villa). Or you can walk to nearest beach (takes about 10-15 minute). At all times the villa was kept in an excellent condition.

Tanya, Russia,

We hired the villa (Villa Gelincik)as it looked modern with a Turkish slant. It was everything and more than was described. The pool, outdoor eating area and BBQ were used most days as the fish caught by the local fishermen was some of the best fish we had ever eaten. What we hadn't realised was the village itself was an absolute jewel, from our next door neighbour bringing fresh figs, capsicum and oregano on an almost daily basis, to the local vegetable seller looking after car keys whilst you went for a swim in the sea, to the variety of excellent restaurants along the sea front. Gary and Esma were great hosts and on hand if there were any questions to be asked or issues. Fatma, the daily cleaner, was also on and to help when ever necessary. An absolutely brilliant holiday enjoyed by all the family. If we could we would be back there tomorrow.

Villa Han is a beautiful villa set in a village location up in the mountains. The setting was fantastic although it is up a narrow village road, so you definitely need a car to get about. The villa had everything you needed there, fully equipped even to the fact that they supplied numerous DVD's, books etc for your use. Excellent service was given from both Gary (the owner) and Hatica (the cleaner). Hatice was there everyday cleaning and tidying for us, she was great. The only downside was the electricity as it was a bit sporadic and kept fading in out, so lights did dim every so often and other things slowed down, but it was not too much of an issue. All in all we had a great holiday here.

"Lovely villa, idyllic setting" - Spent a wonderful week at Villa Han, relaxing and acclimatising ahead of a week's flotilla holiday. Great quality furnishings and decor throughout. Good amount of shade both on the veranda and around the pool to retire from the sun when needed. Kids loved the pool, as well as the wi-fi. Lovely restaurants in Orhaniye as well as nearby Selimiye, Borzburun etc. Best aspect however for us was the idyllic setting, being located at the top end of Orhaniye village, surrounded by villagers' farms. Very rural and very peaceful!

David, UK,

Villa Han is a fantastic rural retreat. The listing description is very accurate. A well built and kept Villa in a rural setting with lots around to see and do. You do need a hire car, unless you are just going to stay very close by for the entire visit. Minor power problems meant one AC would not work properly. The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a quiet getaway. Selimiye (nearby village) has lots to offer, as do drives in either direction along the coast.

Simon Kenya,

My family of five visited Villa Han in July, we spent our first week in Ovacik and what a contrast we had, week one was exciting and fun and we thought would be more to the "children's" (22,20 & 15) liking, but what a surprise Villa Han in Orhaniye was. Orhaniye is the most tranquil lost in time oasis with its own bit of sea front, with local markets and really interesting places, people and scenery. We all enjoyed the location and the Villa itself was superb, everything worked, everything we needed was there.

Peter & Elizabeth, UK,

I rented Villa Han for 6 nights in June to share with 3 girl friends while our men were sailing. We were all delighted to stay in such a lovely villa in the hills behind Orhaniye. The villa is very spacious and all the bedrooms have their own bathrooms.Everything is provided and it feels like a home. The outside area and pool are lovely so we were happy to stay around the pool and venture out to eat each evening. Plenty of restaurants in the area but you do need a car.

The Belga Queen, Belgium,

I'd booked a surprise villa stay for my husband for his 50th birthday, and after much research of the area, decided that Villa Gelincik would be perfect... it didn't disappoint! The surrounding area is utterly breathtaking, and if you wish to get away from the madding crowds, then this is the villa for you.
It has a fabulous outside area, with swimming pool, plenty of sunbeds, bar-b-cue and a wonderful seating area overlooking the little harbour of Selimyie... a fabulous peaceful place to sit outside under the canopy with a good book and watch the world go by. There are almond trees, banana plants and olive trees that surround this secluded garden and pool area.
The villa itself is so well thought out, with the rooms taking full advantage of the wonderful views over the harbour. Little things that make all the difference... flowers in every bathroom.... spotlessly clean (very important!!) Well equipped kitchen... TV (if you need it), plenty of board games oh and a 300 plus library of books catering for all tastes!!!!
The outside seating area is what makes this villa , with great views and a welcomed breeze under the shaded seating area. Outside lanterns and plenty of potted plants around the terrace create such a wonderful ambiance to sit and enjoy.
The surrounding area is simply stunning and you will definitely need a car, plus a four wheel drive would be useful if you wish to get up the track to the villa!!! Alcohol is expensive in this area as they charge a huge premium, so would strongly advise you get you're provisions in Marmaris. We tried out several restaurants in the little village and the food is simply delicious.... Oh yes they have a local market once a week ( I think it's on a Wednesday), which is worth a visit.
I would highly recommend anyone to stay in this villa, although there were only two of us, it can sleep up to nine, so good for families too....I can honestly say that I have never seen my husband so relaxed!!!!!...
We will be back next year to this " little slice of Heaven"........

VG is a beautiful villa in a superb location with unforgettable views. Perfect for relaxation. Village is friendly, unassuming and reminiscent of times before mass tourism - lets hope it stays that way. Fatma does am amazing job with a ready smile.

Macleans, Herefordshire,

Villa Gelincik is a lovely villa, all mod cons. Beautiful views and pool. Fatma's work around the house was outstanding, what a gem.

Maddisons, UK,

VG is an absolutely stunning villa! The view is amazing (especially from the pool) Beds are comfortable and everything that we could possibly need here was supplied. Will definitely come again!

M Dyble, London,

Villa Gelincik is the best of both worlds – a peaceful, spacious, private villa, with amazing pool/terrace views….but with all the “mod-cons”, décor and Fatma's daily hard work, it also feels like a 4 star hotel! Selimiye Village itself is also a hidden gem – we loved walking on the sea-front, browsing the shops, (with no hassle/hard-sell) and stopping for refreshments. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to be back ourselves in the not too distant future. Thanks for a lovely relaxing holiday.
